Movement As Action: Creating Community

A Workshop: To bring together people of varying backgrounds to generate collective creativity as performative and social action.

As social beings, we are constantly moving together with people through space. What happens when this movement is shaped consciously? Does it become (social) action? What happens when we consider or define "community" as an attitude, rather than a demographic?

Eat, Drink, Man, Woman 飲食男女

Hey friends, do you remember this Taiwanese movie - have you seen it?
It's a great movie filmed in Taipei so I thought it was appropriate to mention it considering our experience of all eating and drinking together last Saturday night.
I really enjoyed the opportunity to spend more time with you all and share some wonderful hours not only dancing, moving and laughing but also eating, drinking and talking.
I feel that eating together has created the next level of intimacy in our community and I am so excited to see you all again on Saturday 23rd May and continue our experiment together.
I have been reading more and more about Chinese food culture and how the sharing of tastes and textures in food has so many references to history, art, poetry, philosophy and now for us - DANCE!
It is the food that we eat together that brings us into a shared sensory experience, just like when we move together how we feel and sense eachother in a shared space.
Its all very exciting!

Sending you all a big hug,

Lots of Love Brendt 柏仁
